Felipe Alviar-Baquero
DirectorFelipe is a leading lenders insurance advisor who has worked in some of the largest project finance transactions in the world advising lenders (including ECAs, DFI and commercial lenders), governmental organisations and corporates. Felipe co-leads the project finance team, which is currently advising on transactions with a total value in excess of $ 100 billion including power, energy, infrastructure, utilities and renewable projects. Felipe provides training to organisations worldwide on insurance related matters.
Felipe is a Solicitor of the Senior Courts of England and Wales. Prior to joining INDECS, he worked at Slaughter and May and Latham & Watkins, specialising in international project finance. His strong legal background enables him to provide high quality advice on the insurance and indemnity provisions on project agreements, and on the insurance provisions of finance and security documentation.
Felipe speaks Spanish fluently. He holds a First Class Honours degree in Law and Business Administration from the University of Kent and a Distinction in the B.C.L from Oxford University.
Felipe is an Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute and a Chartered Insurance Practitioner. Felipe is also a member of the board of trustees of the charity Children Change Colombia.
