INDECS has advised and supported Saipem with a number of construction insurance claims at project and corporate level.

We outlined and implemented claim consulting strategies, so that technical and cost data was presented to insurers in support of a claim. Our advice enabled Saipem to make informed decisions on complex claim issues and resulted in the successful commercial settlement of each claim.

The Gryphon FPSO, located in the North Sea, was substantially damaged during severe storms in 2011. Extensive repairs took over two years to complete before the vessel could be operational again.

INDECS was appointed by all the field partners to manage the multi-part $1 billion insurance claim, which included property damage, removal of wreck, evacuation, pollution mitigation, loss of income and sue and labour.

We provided support on all aspects of the claim, acted as the sole point of contact with the loss adjuster, coordinated work scopes and achieved regular payments on account throughout the repair programme.

Working on the claim as part of an integrated team with multiple personnel from the client, we achieved settlement six weeks prior to the Gryphon returning to operations.
